One day, in a land not that far away, there was a naive young girl trying to fend for herself. Trying to find happiness while the world fought hard to bring her down.OK, well maybe not naive, but definitely pissed off and trying to understand people's intentions, whether good or bad.
I hope you find my journey humorous.

What's Happy About It.

Let me just begin this by stating the facts.
I am an only child.
No siblings.
No brothers.
No sisters.
No step-anythings.
Nada.
Some people say I have a numbers thing.
Tell me a number. I can remember any combination.
Dates, Times, Math is my thing.
They don't even have to have any significance to me.
I can still recall them.
Years later in fact.
I get that this is not such an easy task for some others.
Numbers and memorization skills are one of my quirks.
Some people can only remember numbers that mean something to them.
Let me explain.....
Today I went to the circus...I mean THE circus.

RINGLING BROS. At the TD Banknorth Garden.
With my family.
Actually, my extended family.
My cousin from London who up until two months ago I had never met.
We drove Fiona back to the South Station at noon to get on the train with her friend Laura.
They will be flying back to London on Tuesday and they are taking the train to New York where they will catch their flight.
As she was getting out of the car, Fiona and Laura say to me........

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY LISSA."

Where upon my mother says, "Oh that's right, It's your birthday..Happy Birthday!"

SERIOUSLY????

I'm just saying.

OK, well, I can't compete with that. My mother has forgotten my birthday too, but I'm the last of five and she now has 15 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids so I guess she's got a number of excuses...
